Nut Brown Ale Still Fermenting
So I brewed a batch of Nut Brown Ale on October 19th which was quite a while ago. Yesterday I siphoned it into a secondary fermenter and low and behold, it started fermenting again! I thought it was mostly done but I guess maybe the oxygenation during the transfer caused some more fermentation. Of course, it's nothing like it was at the start but there's definitely a layer of bubbles on top of the beer and the airlock is bubbling every so often. Does anyone have any comments on this? It would be better if I could give some gravity readings but unfortunately I broke my hydrometer. I guess I'm just going to wait about another week or 10 days and then bottle. Man, it smells good though, I can't wait to drink it.

Re: Nut Brown Ale Still Fermenting
Sometimes if you have a big temp change it will bubble. Maybe not as much as u r getting though. Did it take off fast from the start or was it a slower start? The ferment temp can play a role too. If it had a cold fermentation & then gets warmed up it will finish fermenting sometimes.
I would wait a week or until your hydrometer gets there.

Yeah, that's a good idea. I'll definitely wait until the hydrometer gets here. I did move it and the temp may be a little different in its new place. This batch took off very fast which is sort of why I thought it might have finished fast also. Interesting. I'll know more when the hydrometer gets here.
