Old Guy, Kicked Out of Home

Postby Art » Thu Oct 30, 2008 10:12 pm

Yep, I'm getting the boot. My brewing operation is going to the barn.

This is a self imposed move, but the wife didn't beg me to stay. I have a shop adjoining my barn with a cement floor, natural gas, electricity, and water. Since I already have a sink in there it should be a snap to get everything ready to brew. The only thing I plan on doing extra is to build a dedicated closet for my equipment.

I'm hoping this will make brewing even more pleasant by saving a bunch of steps since everything will be in easy reach. With my present brewing situation it seems I make a dozen or more trips in and out of the house for different things I seem to need. The move will get me out of Mama's hair on brew days also.

Anyone have a suggestion please let me know. I've tried to think of everything but I know something will be left out

OOOH, I am envious lol. I don't have an extra shop for anything. Sounds like it will work out great for ya though. About the only thing I can think to make it better and easier to keep sterilized is to seal the floor with a good driveway paint. It would make clean ups a breeze and nothing could start growing in the pours of the concrete.

Good idea John the paint would make eveything cleaner and would look good also. Jeep I do have kegerator and love it as for an old fridge it would be nice somewhere in the future. I have a small chest freezer I'm using right now but it would be nice to have something a tad bigger. Right now I'm trying double hard to complete the work in the house so I can get started on my brewing space.

Package arrived!!! Thanks for the excellent service. I'm working on my brew closet and haven't gotten around to opening the box but I'm sure I'll find everything as it should be.

I threw in a little extra on the quick connects. I couldnt let you not have one at the valve also!! So i replaced the brass non disconnect with a stainless disconnect already all assembled & ready for action!! That gives you 2 complete hoses with disconnects at each end for between the valve to pump, & another between pump and chiller.
Plus a nipple to connect to the valve so you can use a disconnect on it.
OPEN THE BOX!!

You peaked my interest and I went to the shop and opened the box. Brian, I must say that you out did yourself. Thanks a million and I'll let you know how all this works out. I do have high hopes for my brew shack and this new equipment. I'll post some pictures when more progress is made on this venture.

I'm almost ready to make the move. I have the closet pretty well complete except for a couple more shelves and then I can start moving my stuff in.

Just for the heck of it I'd like to give my new found home a name. How about a few suggestions? I'm sure some of you have a better imagination than me.

Pictures to follow soon.

I was thinking perhaps the Hole in the Wall Brewery or Closet Brewing Company.
