I want to experiment with yeast but am a little unsure

Postby edededed » Mon Feb 01, 2010 2:46 pm

I am reading everything I can find on yeast and wow is it alot. I found a link which I believe Wild posted about yeast washing and have found 2 beers with possibly(?) the same strain.

Suggested Yeast: White Labs California Ale / Wyeast 1056, White Labs San Fransisco Lager / Wyeast 2112

Suggested Yeast : White Labs California 001 / Wyeast 1056

Note the wyeast 1056.

Will I get a better yield out of the beer by this method and what if the yeasts were not the same?

This portion really interests me, I like the idea of having my own little 'yeast farm'.

Any input is appreciated.

Secondary...Maple syrup Porter
2nd 2nd Secondary.....hard cider
kegged-Kolsch, maple syrup stout

I'm using the dry yeast packs to start with also, does it matter?
