Which sterilizer do you use?
I wanted to get an idea of what sterilizer most of you guys use. I have used plain ole bleach for years now. Bleach has been quite successful for me, but is a bit of a pain in the arse, as you have to rinse all your equipment very thoroughly after sanitizing with it. Most recently, after hearing alot of great stuff about it, I decided to try Starsan. I purchased an 8 ounce bottle of it at my LHBS for 10 bucks. I tried it on my last batch and am a definite convert. I prepared 1 gallon of sanitizer and used it for all my equipment, and didnt even have to rinse my carboy out! I racked my beer right onto the bubbles, and pitched my yeast.
I have heard of an iodine based sanitizer called iodophor, but really dont know anything about it.
What do you guys use?
Cheers

I use iodophor.
It is relatively inexpensive and easy to use.
The only draw back is that it can stain that equipment but I consider that a small price to pay from peace of mind.

I use both iodophor and StarSan. Another great thing about StarSan is that you can put painted bottles in the leftover used portion and it will eat the paint off in about a week.

StarSan here....
I like that the foam can get into a lot of cracks and crevices (probably more of a mental thing on my part).
I would reccomend buying it in the larger bottle...I think the 32 oz bottle will put you back about 17-18 bucks..much more economical than 10 bucks for 8oz.

Always used Iodopher. Now I'm starting to think Star-San is worth a try. The staining part of Iodopher can suck because I can't bring myself to use a "yellowed" piece of equipment. I've thrown out a lot of tubing!
