Whole Hops or Pellet?

Re: Whole Hops or Pellet?
Those of you that use Pellet, How do you (or do you) filter out the hops? I've tried the "Swirl it so it all collects in the middle", but always pick up a lot of the hop particles into the fermenter. I don't worry about it much, but am just curious.

Re: Whole Hops or Pellet?
I use pellets a bunch, and don't end up with a lot of hop gunk in my fermenter. I don't really do anything special though. After my wort is chilled, I start siphoning it into my fermenter. I start at the top, and work my way down. Once the hose starts picking up gunk, I stop the siphon. I lose between 1/4 and 1/2 gallon of wort to the boil pot, but I account for that in Beersmith. My wort is usually pretty clear before I pitch the yeast.
I like whole hops in the boil, but I much prefer plug hops for dry hopping, because they're just so easy to use. I use mostly pellet hops though, because they're what's available.
Cheers,
Dave
